Walkaway Wondering

This was my introduction to anarchist societies, although I don't think it clicked that it was until I read The Dispossessed. Walkaway's reliance on abundance made it feel more fantastical, and The Dispossessed spent time comparing it to one I could recognize, which brought it into a reality that I could picture.

Here's what I initially wrote about it after reading it a couple years ago:

I have a lot of complicated rambly thoughts on this, and I'm not sure it could be conceived of today, but it is arguably peak 2017 near future sci-fi writing. It wasn't perfect and technological advancements since it's release have altered the meaning behind the ideas it explores, but I really enjoyed it. I'd say stay tuned but I'm not sure I'll get around to a full write up any time soon.

I still haven't completed that writeup on the rambly thoughts, but I think The Dispossessed is a great book to read next if you liked Walkaway.
