Drawtober 2026 Recap
Another year, another successful Drawtober.

This year's drawings were inspired by travels, movies I'd seen, and various artists sharing their work online. My goal was to match the 16/31 I completed last year, however due to a busy month (all for good reasons) I only made it to 12/31.
I stuck with the post-it note canvas to keep the total scope of each limited, but this year varied the color throughout the month which feels like it added a lot to the final collection, and changed the vibe a bit as I went. The general process was to outline in pencil what I was thinking, typically using one or two point perspective techniques, then go over that in pen. Finally, detailing, shading and such was added in pen to complete the post-it.
Some days felt a bit constrained by the small paper, struggling to convey a grandiose mega-structure without being able to include an identifiable person, city, or similar, for a perspective on the scale. By the end of the month they were starting to take shape a bit better, but I could still use some work on that front.
I'm happy with the days I did make it to, and with the final collection. Hopefully next year I get to even more.
